Dr. Seuss’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas the main idea of the movie is how the Grinch wants to get revenge on the people in Whoville and wants to ruin Christmas for all the towns people.

I thinks that the performances was good by Jim Carrey the Grinch. The main reason that the Grinch wanted to still Christmas from the people in Whoville because he was made fun of when he was a kid for being different then all the other kids. He wanted to get back at the people in Whoville and take there Christmas form them. He did not like that they were always cheerful and loud when he is sad and sitting at the top of a mountain alone with with his dog.

Why is this a classic Christmas movie that families watch every year? It is a classic movie because is a family friendly movie its a funny comedic movie for all the family members to watch together and have a laugh and still be watching a movie in the Christmas theme.

Here is some interesting trivia about  Dr. Seuss’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas. From: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0170016/trivia?ref_=tt_ql_2

1) “According to Rick Baker, the prosthetic make-up Jim Carrey wore took about two hours to put on and  one hour to remove. It is to be rumored that Carrey felt so confined in the latex skin that he sought counselling from a CIA agent who taught him torture-resistance techniques.”

2)” The line “6:30 p.m. Dinner with me. I can’t cancel that again.” was improvised by Jim Carrey.”

3) “Jim Carrey, with no accompaniment nor anything to alter his voice, sang a few verses of the signature song “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch.”

4) “Jim’s Carrey’s Grinch suit is covered in yak hair, which was dyed green and sewn onto a spandex suit.”

5) “Jim Carrey’s yellow contact lenses  were so uncomfortable that he wasn’t able to wear them in time during the filming. Some shots of his eyes were colored  in post-production.”

6) “Top-selling movie ticket of 2000, fifty million sold.”

8) “There are 40,000 computer-generated trees in the opening shot sequence.”

9) “Approximately six hundred visual effects were used in this movie, totalling forty-three minutes of screentime.”

10) “Producer and director Ron Howard’s family showed up in several spots in the movie: his father, Rance, was the Elderly Timekeeper Who that shouted “Put him in the Chair of Cheer!” His daughter, Bryce, showed up as the young redheaded Who in the quick shot after the Grinch turned the lights in Whoville back on. His wife, Cheryl, can be seen holding hands with the Elder Who when all of the Whos gather around the tree, and his brother, Clint, played Whobris, the Mayor’s Assistant. Another “Howard”, Jeremy, appeared as Dru Lou Who, although he is of no relation to the other Howards involved with this movie.”

11) “The photo of the Grinch in the Whoville newspaper has the Grinch in the same pose as an infamous alleged photo taken of Bigfoot, also known as Sasquatch, from the Patterson Gimlin movie. Another Christmas movie, Elf (2003), similarly featured its main character, Buddy the Elf, walking near Central Park and mimicking the walking style of Bigfoot/Sasquatch.”

This scene is when the Grinch heart grows three sizes. The Grinch sees how upset the people in Whoville get and feels bad that he took there Christmas. Then he goes back and returns all the stuff that he stole from them. This scene is important because it shows that the rudest people have the biggest hearts.
