NAHS took a field trip to Memphis on Wednesday, March 8, 2017. Students went to the Memphis College of Arts and the Memphis Zoo.

Students toured Memphis College of Arts. They saw classrooms, professors, and college students working. Students also viewed students’ work in the classrooms and galleries.

At the Brooks Museum, students viewed works from several artists past and present. Lastly, Pearl High School students ended the day at the Memphis zoo.

Memphis Zoo first began in April of 1906 with only a black bear, but know it has expanded over seventy acres located in Midtown, Memphis, Tennessee.

Also, the Memphis Zoo is home for more than three thousand and five hundred animals, and represents over five hundred different species of animals.

The Memphis College of Arts is a small, private college of art and design located in Tennessee’s Overton Park.

Felicia Lee is one of the art teachers at Pearl High School. “All art requires courage,” said Lee.
