Pearl High School Girls Basketball and Cross Country Featured

On January 10, 2016, the Pearl High School Girls Basketball team competed against Terry High School.

The basketball game took place inside the Pearl High School Gym at 6:00 p.m.

At the end of the first quarter, Terry started winning, with the points being twenty-four points to seven points.

At the end of the second quarter, Terry was still leading, but Pearl started catching up with the points being twenty-four to twenty-two.

After the third quarter ended, Pearl caught up and took the lead from Terry with the points being thirty-seven to thirty-six.

However, during the fourth quarter, Terry stole back the lead from Pearl, and the game ended with Terry being the victors with the final score being fifty-three to fifty.

In other sports news, the PHS Cross Country team had runner announced by the Clarion Ledger on December 16, 2016.

Aden Maddox, a runner for the PHS Cross Country team, finished in the top six in six different races, clocked the fifth best time of any runner in the state with his second place at the 18th annual Jesse Owens Invitational (16:23), and claimed sixth place in the MHSAA 6A Championship at Choctaw Trails in Clinton with a time of 16:23.
